Dressing for the Successful Interview
Tips on making a good visual impression.
First impressions do count! You are preparing for a job interview, not a night on the town. Once you've decided what to wear, make sure that it is clean and pressed, free of stains and not missing any buttons. If you are unsure of appropriate dress, check out Clint Greenleaf's Attention to Detail: A Gentleman's Guide to Professional Appearance and Conduct or John Molloy's New Women's Dress for Success.
While you may think the suggestions are somewhat traditional, it is always better to err to the conservative than to appear garish. One of the tricks to a successful interview is to avoid creating reasons NOT to be hired.
